Placemats

The Seniors First  organization administers the Meals on Wheels program for Placer County.   They provide a midday meal to people who are home alone during the day  and who have difficulty preparing simple meals, as well as short-term  services for those recuperating from recent illness, hospitalization or  convalescent care.

The guild provides Seniors First with placemats for their clients,  including special ones for Christmas.  They add color to the meal.   We’ve been told that some recipients like them so much – they area like  miniature quilts – they put them up on their walls as decorations.

They are a great way to use scraps and/or orphan blocks.

You may make placemats from kits supplied by the guild, or from your own stash.  Here are instructions for making Placemats (download below)
